Cycling in Cambodia – part 1

Cycling for thee weeks around Cambodia on our tandem

Day 1 – 7th Dec 2014

Arrived in Phnom Penh late afternoon and got a taxi straight to the hotel (TEAV boutique hotel). Assembled the tandem, had dinner and then headed to bed.

Day 2 – 8th Dec 2014
Visited S21 prison and went for a walk along the river front. Prepared panniers ready for early start tomorrow.

Day 5 – 11th Dec 2014 – Kratie rest day
Had a lie in then went for an afternoon kayak to see the flooded forest and Mekong dolphins

Day 6 – 12th Dec 2014 – Kratie to Strung Trang (158km, 287m)

Day 8 – 14th Dec 2014 – Preah Vihear City to Koh Ker; with loop to see the temple (81km, 277m)

Day 9 – 15th Dec 2014 – Koh Ker to Siem Reap (112km, 136m)
Took route 66. Hard but interesting day. Route 66 was very difficult to follow in places and had a lot of sections in sand. We also had to cross some rivers (by log bridge and by cycling through them) and do some single trail sections.
